This event invites major leaders from Swiss industry to share the keys to effective strategic leadership in times of great change, to build bridges between both worlds and explore the possible implications of this new economy. 

The event began with an inspirational opening speech by Craig Smith, former president of Marriott International, the world's largest hotel management company. Several high-level speakers then shared their vision of how to lead teams and companies successfully in times of uncertainty.

Alfonso Gómez, CEO of BBVA Switzerland, stressed not only the importance of promoting excellence in every area, but also ensuring that each team member has a group mindset and innovative thinking to achieve goals.

“To lead in times of uncertainty, it is important to find a way to spark enthusiasm and curiosity at work. And when extraordinary people have the courage to leave their comfort zone, they usually produce extraordinary results", Alfonso Gómez emphasized in his speech.

Convinced of the significant impact of creating high-value teams within the Swiss financial ecosystem in terms of achieving excellent results, Alfonso Gómez has recently been appointed vice-president of the AFBS (Association of Foreign Banks in Switzerland) and is a member of the SFI (Swiss Financial Institute). BBVA in Switzerland is now part of The Crypto Valley, an independent, non-governmental association that aims to leverage all the advantages of Switzerland to build a world-leading ecosystem of cryptography and blockchain technologies.

BBVA in Switzerland has not overlooked the enormous potential of Blockchain to transform and improve its business. “We are facing one of the biggest and most exciting technological changes of our times, yet its implementation faces numerous obstacles that will require close collaboration between financial regulators, financial institutions and technology partners”, concludes Alfonso Gómez.
