Major US stock index futures edged higher and pointed to modest gains at the open on Wednesday, as investors grew optimist about a potential COVID-19 vaccine.

On Tuesday, May 26th, the Dow Jones gained 530 points or 2.2% to 24,995. The S&P 500 jumped 36 points or 1.2% to 2992. The Nasdaq climbed 16 points or 0.2% to 9340.
