FitXR web searches have increased by 2,400% over the past two years, largely driven by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. FitXR is an app that has gained 11,500 users through Facebook, an increase of nearly double in the last year.
The company has raised a total of $8.8 million in funding to date and has indicated that it plans to expand its operations in Europe and North America.
While cardio and boxing apps are the most popular, sports such as basketball, tennis and target shooting also have virtual alternatives. Overall, fitness apps have been downloaded 400 million times in 2021 alone.
